Joe Maddon is gone from the Cubs and now his restaurant is gone from Wrigleyville.
Maddon’s Post, which opened in May right outside Wrigley Field, has closed.
Initially, it was believed that Maddon’s departure to the Los Angeles Angels wouldn’t affect the restaurant, but doors closed for good on Sunday.
According to Chicago Eater, chef Tony Mantuano’s own move from Chicago to Italy after Maddon’s move led to the decision to close Maddon’s Post.
It’s been a tough year for Chicago restaurants named after legendary Chicago sports figures. Ditka’s Restaurant struggled to stay open after having issues with its lease.
