SCOTTSDALE, Arizona – Former Cubs manager Joe Maddon took his talents to Southern California more than four months ago, and he still found himself Tuesday defending the way he managed the Cubs toward the end of the most successful five-year run for the franchise in more than a century.
He also still has no intention of backing down.
“Listen, my methods – I’ve been doing it for a while,” said the new manager of the Los Angeles Angels as Chicago media surrounded him during a Cactus League-wide media event.
“I was pretty pleased with the run we had,” Maddon said.
