Jesse Chavez may be the big bullpen addition the Cubs have needed

It's no secret that the Cubs' bullpen has been leaned on heavily this season. They've also been really good, posting a 3.27 ERA as a unit (fourth-best in Major League Baseball). But no contender averages as many innings per game from their bullpen as the Cubs.

Steve Cishek is on pace to eclipse his career-high in appearances and innings pitched, while Pedro Strop and Justin Wilson will likely be close to their career-highs in the same categories. Injuries to Carl Edwards Jr. and Brandon Morrow, who is currently on the disabled list with a bicep strain, have made the stress on the 'pen even greater.
