The Cubs improved to 35-34 with a 3-2 win over the San Diego Padres on Monday night, cutting their NL Central deficit to 1 1/2 games. It was the Cubs' second win in a row, marking the first time they had won consecutive games since taking five in a row on June 2-6. It's been that kind of season. Not awful, but not very good either.
In their World Series defense campaign, the Cubs haven't been more than four games over .500 or more than two games under. But they are 10-7 in June going into Tuesday's game, so maybe a run is coming?
