Javy Báez has been cleared for light baseball activity, which means hitting off of a tee and working through other simple drills. But he could actually appear Thursday night as a pinch runner, according to reports. This is incredibly good news, especially since the Cubs just used Daniel Descalso as a runner Wednesday night.
Javy has been cleared to pinch run, even as soon as tonight.
He has a mitt he can wear on the bases. He has also been cleared by doctors for some light baseball activity (tee work)

Javy has a protective mitt he can wear to protect his fractured thumb while running the bases, something that’s actually pretty common.
