After a weekend filled with positive vibes at Fenway while the Cubs were in town, things turned ugly on Monday in Boston when Baltimore Orioles center fielder Adam Jones had a bag of peanuts thrown at him and was subjected to racial taunts.
The incident was the talk of baseball Monday night and remains so. The Red Sox and MLB have both responded to the incident and Jones received a standing ovation from the Fenway faithful prior to his first at-bat Tuesday evening. Many in the Cubs clubhouse were talking about it as well.
Jason Heyward patrolled the outfield during all three games at Fenway over the weekend and was asked if he heard anything like what Jones did on Monday night.
