Cubs right fielder Jason Heyward generously donated $200K this week in support of those affected by the ongoing COVID-19 emergency.
During an interview on ESPN 1000’s “Waddle and Silvy” on Friday, Heyward said he wanted to make sure kids whose meals may come from school each day were cared for. Chicago Public Schools is closed through April 20 due to the coronavirus.
Half of Heyward’s donation went to MASK — Mothers Against Senseless Killings — and the other half to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
