Jake Arrieta’s Ridiculously Good, Historic Season

Jake Arrieta wrapped up his incredible season Friday night at Miller Park with six shutout innings and his 22nd victory of the year. Arrieta allowed two hits and faced three over the minimum in the Cubs 95th win of the season.

The Cubs went 25-8 in Jake Arrieta’s 33 starts.

Jake Arrieta finished the regular season 22-6 in 33 starts with a 1.77 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 2.35 FIP. Arrieta allowed 52 runs, 45 earned runs, on 150 hits (10 home runs) with 48 walks and 236 strikeouts in 229 innings. Arrieta is the first Cubs pitcher to win 22 games in a single season since Ferguson Jenkins went 24-13 in 1971.
