One of my favorite moments of the Cubs’ magical 2015 playoff run came in the postgame press conference of their 4-0 wild card win in Pittsburgh.
After covering the Pirates clubhouse for ESPN.com, I made my way to the interview room just in time for Jake Arrieta. The Cubs ace, who pitched a complete game shutout, walked into the room drinking from a bottle of sparkling wine ($8 lower-case champagne, basically).
