The Iowa Cubs lost to the Omaha Storm Chasers (Royals), 10-6. It was Iowa’s seventh-straight loss.
The Storm Chasers jumped out to an early lead off of Iowa starter Luis Lugo when leadoff hitter Edward Olivares doubled and the next batter, Bobby Witt Jr., singled him home.
But Iowa got that run back in the bottom of the inning when, with one out, left fielder Ian Miller reached on a bunt single and after right fielder Brennen Davis walked, first baseman Matt Mervis singled home Miller.
Iowa loaded the bases in the second inning on a walk, a hit batsman and another walk.
