Eloy Jimenez has been out of spring ball since last Tuesday, when he made a wild throw from left field in the bottom of the 9th inning that landed in the seats. He underwent an MRI and CT scan on Saturday and we were told that we’d see results on Sunday.
When the news Sunday turned into “team doctors want more time to evaluate the results,” it was time to start wondering if this would turn into something more serious for the Cubs’ top prospect.
We just learned via Carrie Muskat and others that Jimenez has been diagnosed with a bone bruise in his right shoulder and he’s expected to be held out of play for three weeks.
