CHICAGO -- Cubs fans waited 108 years before the team won a World Series. On Monday, those lucky enough to be at Wrigley Field had to wait a little longer.
The banner raising ceremony scheduled to begin at 6:15 p.m. CT at Wrigley Field to celebrate the Cubs' World Series championship was delayed because of inclement weather in the area.
The Cubs will receive their championship rings on Wednesday, and manager Joe Maddon was hoping everyone could enjoy these moments and savor them.
"I want [the players] to take the mental snapshots," Maddon said. "It's possibly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so don't miss out.
