CHICAGO -- Javier Baez, budgets and new pitching coach Jim Hickey are among the topics in this week's Cubs Inbox.
What do you think about the possibility of Baez leading off? Yes, he needs to develop more plate discipline, but maybe being inserted into the everyday lineup as the leadoff hitter is just what he needs. He's a high-energy, athletic guy with great, unteachable instincts on the basepaths. I think he could be a great table-setter for the "you go, we go" mantra. Imagine the opposing pitcher having to face Baez, Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Willson Contreras and Kyle Schwarber to start off a game.
