CHICAGO -- The Cubs added another top college hitter Monday night, picking outfielder Donnie Dewees with the 47th pick overall in the 2015 MLB Draft.
In the first round, the Cubs tabbed University of Cincinnati outfielder Ian Happ ninth overall.
A redshirt sophomore outfielder at the University of North Florida, Dewees' 2014 season was shortened to 12 games because of a wrist injury. The left-handed hitter made up for that this season as he helped the Ospreys to a 45-16 record and Atlantic Sun regular-season championship.
The Draft continues on Tuesday with Rounds 3-10. The MLB.
