This year, my birthday fell on election day, which is the nerdier version of Bushwick Bill saying, “This year Halloween fell on a weekend.”
When I was a kid, I loved when that convergence happened. It made my birthday feel special, part of something greater than a dorky kid growing up in a small town.
Now I’m at the age where I’d rather not mention my birthday and as for this election, well, you can’t just forget that one.
We don’t need to get into my political beliefs because you don’t care and I don’t care, but on this election day, as I watched into the night, I didn’t feel like my birthday intertwined with something important.
