Toward the end of the Cubs’ postseason run last year, I had several people in my circle who wouldn’t watch the games for fear of jinxing the Cubs. Ridiculous, right?
Except, it seems that lately, every game that I’ve been able to catch on TV, the Cubs have found ways to lose, sometimes miserably. The game Friday night was a microcosm of that: while I wasn’t watching, the Cubs grabbed a nice 3-0 lead, and then when the restaurant my better half and I were at turned the game on, that lead eventually evaporated, and the Cubs were down 4-3.
