As soon as he got the call, he dropped everything to get there as fast as he could. From Memphis, through a connection in Atlanta, finally landing at home in Jacksonville, Fla.
“But as soon as I got to the hospital a lot of peace came over me,” Javy Baez said. “It was almost like everything stopped when I parked at the hospital. It was like everything shut down. And I knew she wasn’t with us anymore.”
Noely Baez, his little sister, his inspiration – Javy Baez’s “purpose” – was gone before he could say goodbye.
“I walked in the hospital, and all my family was in the hallway, like it was a movie,” he said.
