Thanks to a pinch-hit home run by Chris Denorfia, the Chicago Cubs defeated the Kansas City Royals, winning their suspended season series and wrapping their regular season home record at 49-32. That’s pretty good.
On the road, the Cubs are 42-33 with six games left to play away from Wrigley. I don’t think it matters where these guys play. They are good. And they are definitely capable of shutting down opponents of all ilks, now with 20 shutouts against their opponents (which ties the Dodgers for the major league lead), 13 walk off wins, and a whole lot more happy fans than last year.
