Ho-Hum, the Cubs are 12-3

The early Wednesday start interferes with my golf league so I didn’t get to watch the game until the seventh inning. Apparently, Kyle Hendricks did his thing. Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo hit home runs and the bullpen pitched three fairly uneventful innings.

All that adds up to a 7-2 victory and a 12-3 record. The Cubs will head back home to face Milwaukee for four games starting Thursday evening.

Most importantly, I played some decent golf and my team won so all is good this night.

Thoughts:

  • It’s easy to disregard the 60 game season, but a 12-3 start is still pretty impressive and a credit to David Ross and the team for being mentally ready to go from the get go
  • DJ LeMahieu (yes, the former Cub farm hand) and Charlie Blackmon are each leading their league in hitting with averages well over .
