With Kyle Tucker off to a great start with the Cubs, the chorus of voices urging Cubs Chairman Tom Ricketts to open up the team wallet and sign Tucker to an extension before he hits free agency has gotten louder.
While there’s no question about Tucker’s abilities on the field — he’s hitting the way he left off last year and is a probable MVP candidate if he keeps it up — there’s another good reason for the Cubs to get this done now and make it the biggest signing in Cubs franchise history.
