Cubs reliever Carl Edwards Jr. grew up as a Red Sox fan down in Prosperity, S.C., so as you can imagine, he was thrilled to visit Fenway Park last weekend.
“I went into the Green Monster,” he said. “On top of the Green Monster.”
Edwards was 13 when the Red Sox won the World Series in 2004, but wasn’t a bandwagon fan. While Edwards’ dad was a Mets fan and two uncles were Yankees and Cardinals fans, he said he liked the guys from Boston.
“I grew up a Pedro guy,” he said. “A Red Sox guy.
