The MLB All-Star Game has been played at Wrigley Field three times — in 1947, 1962 and 1990. The 1962 game was the second of two played that year, as MLB and its players had agreed to double-up on ASG’s from 1959-62 to have extra contributions to the players’ pension fund.
I’ve written about this game here previously and BCB reader ernaga wrote this FanPost here in 2010 on his luck in scoring a seat in the center-field bleachers, which had been closed for a decade as a hitters’ background. No one has sat in that area since that day, July 30, 1962.
