Let’s get one thing straight: Kyle Hendricks is not the best pitcher in baseball.
Given the choice, we at The Athletic would have to go with Dodger ace, Clayton Kershaw. Before Kershaw went down on June 26, he was pitching one of the best seasons of all time, posting an unlucky 1.79 ERA (1.66 FIP).
Unfortunately for Kershaw, the Dodgers will complete their 122nd game on Saturday night, which exceeds the number of innings Kershaw has thrown (121). And the chances that Kershaw gets back above that eligibility line are slim, as there is no confirmation as to when he will be back in action.
