Cubs starter Jason Hammel exited Monday's series opener against the Dodgers after appearing to injure his right leg while warming up before the top of the third inning during a scoreless game.
After talking with Cubs manager Joe Maddon and a trainer, and attempting to throw some more warmup pitches, Hammel walked off the field. Travis Wood replaced him on the mound.
CHICAGO -- Cubs center fielder Dexter Fowler did not start Monday against the Dodgers because of a sore right heel he's been dealing with for a few days.
