CINCINNATI -- Reds center fielder Billy Hamilton was placed in the concussion protocol program after getting hit by a deflected ball in the outfield on a hit by the Chicago Cubs' Anthony Rizzo that turned into an inside-the-park home run.
Hamilton and left fielder Adam Duvall were converging on the Cubs first baseman's line drive to left center field in the first inning when the ball deflected off Duvall's glove hitting Hamilton in the face.
Hamilton was on the ground as the ball rolled to the wall in vacated left field.
