Rumors flew Saturday morning that Hall of Fame outfielder Rickey Henderson had died.
It was confirmed this afternoon by TMZ. Henderson passed away four days before what would have been his 66th birthday.
Henderson was a force of nature in baseball. Born in Chicago Dec. 25, 1958, he grew up in Oakland and chose baseball over football when he was drafted in the fourth round by the A’s in 1976.
