SAN FRANCISCO — The good news for the Chicago Cubs is that Kyle Hendricks appears to be back in a groove.
The Professor threw seven solid innings, allowing five hits and two runs, his longest outing of the year and first quality start.
The Giants countered with a bullpen game. If you ask most Giants fans they’ll have similar complaints about their team’s bullpen that Cubs fans have about this team’s, but none of that was in evidence Tuesday evening at Oracle Park. Six Giants relievers held the Cubs to four hits and one run and the Giants won for the second straight night, 5-1.
