I woke up this morning feeling good, what with the Cubs entering the month of May with even the slimmest lead in the division–even though it was a slew of low-scoring games, the boys looked like they were getting on track. The starting pitching had been pretty phenomenal, the offense was doing enough, and the bullpen was holding leads. Until Monday night, the defense was even looking fantastic on all fronts. And then, the lineup for game two against the Rockies dropped, and it didn’t look good.
But First, How About Hendricks?
We can take a look at the fact that Kyle Hendricks gave up homers to the first two hitters of the night, and another solo shot to Nolan Arenado in the 4th, and rightfully shake our heads at it.
