It took 20 games, and several trips to a winning percentage of .500, but: the Chicago Cubs are finally more than 1 game above .500 for the year, and in decisive fashion over their 2016 World Series opponent. Granted, this year’s Cleveland team isn’t the same one they took on in ’16, but then again, neither are these Cubs. Progressive Field is still Progressive Field, though, and it became a bit of a homer party by the time all was said and done.
How They Got Going…
The first inning, for a change, was a little plain; Albert Almora struck out to start things off, but Javy Baez once again did Javy Baez things, knocking a double–he’s now hit in seven straight games–before the inning ended relatively quietly.
