After last night’s drubbing of the Rockies, seeing the first inning of this one–Albert Almora and Javy Baez getting themselves on base, before Contreras hit a homerun double off the wall to bring in 3 2 runs, and Yu Darvish getting through the inning fairly easy–and it was easy to think “Here we go again!”
Well, there we went again, but not in the way it seemed to be heading–the Cubs went back to .500 again for the ninth time this season. It took some time to get there, though: Darvish held the Rockies hitless for 4 2/3 innings (with kudos to Almora for a nice running catch, followed by an extremely GIF-able expletive).
