The Cubs announced Friday the team claimed LHP Edgar Olmos off of waivers from the Mariners. With the addition of Olmos, the 40-man roster stands at 37 players.
The 25-year old lefty went 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA (seven earned runs in 14 innings) and 1.71 WHIP in six appearances with the Mariners last season, including two starts. He spent the majority of the season with Triple-A Tacoma where he went 1-1 with a 3.55 ERA (13 earned runs in 33 innings) and 1.36 WHIP in 20 games, two starts. The southpaw has a career 1-1 record in the majors with a 5.
