On Tuesday with the Tigers, Javier Baez will return to Wrigley Field for the first time since the 2021 trade that sent him to the Mets for Pete Crow-Armstrong as part of the World Series core’s breakup. The Cubs will celebrate Baez with a video tribute to toast his contributions to the franchise, highlighted by the 2016 World Series title and co-MLVP honors in the NLCS win over the Dodgers.
Things have not gone as well for Baez in Detroit after signing a six-year, $140 million contract before the 2022 season.
