The Cubs moved to 7-2 on the season as they defeated the Pirates 2-1 in 11 innings on Sunday to sweep the series.
For the first time this season, extra innings were needed to settle things. In addition to the universal DH, extra innings now means that you start out with a runner on second.
Pittsburgh had the first chance and a quick single looked to give the Pirates the lead but Kyle Schwarber threw out the runner, catcher Jacob Stallings, at the plate. Chicago was able to get out of the inning and then had their chance.
