As the national media jumps on the Javy Baez train, so do the people of Chicago in search of some new Cubs gear.
After Baez’s solo home run in Game 1 of the NLDS against the Giants, then his several defensive gems, capped off by driving in the game-winning RBI in the Game 4 clincher, Baez’s legend has evolved on the big stage. His strong performances at the plate for a relatively quiet Cubs offense in the NLDS was huge — he slashed .375/.412/.563, providing two decisive RBIs. Needless to say, fans can’t get enough of him.
So much so that Clark Street Sports, a chain with locations around the city and suburbs, has sold out of Baez jerseys.
