Cubs prospect OF Eloy Jimenez slugs his way to second Midwest League Player of the Week Award
Eloy Jimenez has destroyed pitching in the Midwest League for a majority of the year. And on Monday, Minor League Baseball named the 19-year old slugging outfielder its Player of the Week (July 25-31) in the Midwest League. This is Jimenez’s second Player of the Week Award of the season (May 16-22). He is the first player to earn the award for a second time in the Midwest League this year.
Jimenez went 15-for-25 (.600/.607/1.080) during the week with four doubles, a triple and two home runs.
