MIAMI -- Eloy Jimenez has channeled his inner-Robert Redford enough that they finally made him watch the movie.
The top Cubs prospect has homered twice in batting practice the last few weeks with the ball striking a light standard. One such blast occurred during the Carolina League All-Star Game in Salem, Va. on June 20. Captured on film, the moment is similar to Redford’s game-winning home run in ‘The Natural’ where the ball flies into the light standard and sets off an overblown explosion. After Jimenez accomplished the feat a second time his Myrtle Beach teammates showed him the movie clip.
