Diamondbacks 10, Cubs 2: Pete Crow-Armstrong held out with hamstring tightness

Before Monday’s Cubs game against the Diamondbacks even started, we got some not-great news:

Cubs saying Pete Crow Armstrong precautionary benching today is tightness in the hamstring.

“Precautionary” is likely good news. There’s no reason to risk further injury in a meaningless game. It sounds like the sort of thing PCA might play through if this were the regular season, and obviously the team would like to keep him healthy for the trip to Japan, which is now less than two weeks away.
