In a season filled with lasting memories, team leader and fan favorite David Ross was able to add a few more in his final regular season game at Wrigley Field.
In the Cubs’ 3-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday night, Ross went 1-for-2 with a home run that opened up the scoring. In his own Vin Scully moment, Ross received four standing ovations and two curtain calls.
“I’m so appreciative to the fans here in Chicago for the way they treat me, embrace me and this team and the way they respect me and give me so much credit I don’t deserve,” Ross said.
