With the Winter Meetings just a little over a week away, the market for David Price appears to be taking shape.
The Cubs remain among the teams interested in signing Price, along with the Red Sox, Dodgers, Giants and Cardinals. Price may have lost a possible destination on Friday night.
Despite reports suggesting Price would prefer to return to the Blue Jays, Toronto and Mark Shapiro no longer appear to have room in their payroll to re-sign him.
The Jays overpaid J.A. Happ by signing the lefty to a three-year, $36 million contract.
