According to Tommy Birch of the Des Moines Register, David Bote is being recalled to Chicago after just three games with the Iowa Cubs. Because he’s not been in the minors for the requisite 10 days, this can only mean he is coming up to take over for someone being placed on the injured list.

The Cubs have not made any announcements yet, but Anthony Rizzo left Saturday’s game with a stiff back and it seems like he’s a pretty good bet to be the player going to the IL.
