Cubs unable to back Quintana in opener vs. Sox

CHICAGO -- Jose Quintana probably felt right at home on Friday at the ballpark he called home for 5 1/2 seasons. The problem is the Cubs didn't give the lefty any run support, which was a recurring theme whenever Quintana pitched for the White Sox.

Kevan Smith hit a three-run homer and doubled and scored on Ryan LaMarre's double to power the White Sox to a 10-4 victory over the Cubs on Friday at Guaranteed Rate Field. With the win, the White Sox evened the six-game Interleague series to two wins apiece with two games to go.
