ATLANTA — The Cubs are bringing reliever Rafael Soriano to the major leagues, and with it they're saying goodbye to Edwin Jackson.
The Cubs will bring up Soriano for Monday's game against the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ballpark after signing the 35-year-old former closer to a minor league deal in June. Soriano, who saved 40 or more games three times — including in 2010 with Joe Maddon's Tampa Bay Rays — threw seven innings in the Cubs' farm system to prepare for his return to the major leagues.
