Cubs agree to terms with third round draft pick right-handed pitcher Thomas Hatch
According to a report from Mark Gonzales that was confirmed by Thomas Hatch, the Cubs have signed the team’s third round pick in last month’s draft.
The Cubs selected Thomas Hatch in the third round with the 104th overall pick. Hatch was the first player the Cubs drafted this year after forfeiting the first and second round picks to sign free agents John Lackey and Jason Heyward.
The Cubs agreed to terms rather quickly with Hatch after Oklahoma State was eliminated from the College World Series.
