Cubs agree to terms on a Minor League contract with veteran reliever RHP Joel Peralta
The Cubs added another veteran reliever to the organization Thursday. The Cubs signed RHP Joel Peralta to a minor league contract. The Mariners released 40-year old right-hander on June 4.
According to Ken Rosenthal, the Royals and Blue Jays showed interest in Peralta before he signed with the Cubs.
Joel Peralta will report to Triple-A Iowa.
Joe Maddon is very familiar with Peralta from their time together in Tampa.
