According to reports from Jesse Rogers and Bruce Levine, the Cubs signed outfielder Quintin Berry to a minor league contract. Berry will report to Triple-A Iowa.
Berry has not played in the majors this year. Berry signed a minor league contract with Boston in January and has spent the year with Triple-A Pawtucket.
Quintin Berry can play all three outfield spots. The left-handed outfielder played in 10 games for the Red Sox last year and did not get a hit or reach base in two plate appearances.
Berry played in 94 games for the Tigers in 2012.
