Cubs Sign 1B Matt Clark to Minor League Contract

The Cubs signed 1B Matt Clark to a minor league contract on Feb. 26 according to the official transactions page. Clark’s deal did not include an invite to big league camp. Clark has been called up for the day and played in two Cactus League games over the weekend.

Matt Clark, 28, spent last season in the Brewers’ system and hit .291/.367/.492 in 132 games for Triple-A Colorado Springs with 34 doubles, a triple and 20 home runs for a .858 OPS.

The Padres selected Matt Clark in the 12th round of the 2008 draft.
