PITTSBURGH – Cubs left-hander Shota Imanaga appeared to wince after Pirates designated hitter Andrew McCutchen lined a double into left-center field.

Manager Craig Counsell and head athletic trainer Nick Frangella jogged to the mound, along with interpreter Edwin Stanberry. After a conversation, Imanaga left the field with them.

In the Cubs’ 9-0 win against the Pirates Tuesday, Imanaga exited during the sixth inning with leg cramps, the team later announced. And Counsell specified that it affected both quads.
