PHOENIX — Cubs left-hander Shota Imanaga watched left fielder Ian Happ catch an inning-ending fly ball and pointed to the sky. In a game the Cubs would win 4-3 on Saturday against the Diamondbacks, Imanaga had just breezed through the sixth inning.
Then he went out for the next inning, too, finishing his night allowing one run and three hits in seven innings.
‘‘Today, in my head, I was thinking six innings,’’ Imanaga said through an interpreter.
