The Cubs picked up veteran catcher Rene Rivera off waivers on Saturday and, just like that, he’s starting Sunday afternoon. Alas, there must be a corresponding roster move and there is, meaning Victor Caratini will be heading back to Iowa. Unfortunately for Caratini, the move comes just a couple days removed from perhaps his best game as a major-leaguer on Friday when he went 3-for-3 including a double and a walk.

The Cubs are also sending recently recalled Rob Zastryzny back to Iowa to make room for Koji Uehara, who is being activated from the DL today.
