The Cubs had a nine-man bullpen for a couple of days over the weekend when Mark Zagunis was sent to Triple-A Iowa.
Tim Collins was the extra guy, and now he’s heading back to Des Moines:
Jim Adduci, who went to high school in the Chicago area at Evergreen Park High School, is no prospect. He’s 34 and has 149 games of big-league experience with the Rangers and Tigers from 2013-18, as well as quite a few spring training games with the Cubs over several seasons (he was in the Cubs system from 2007-12).
